VTREC Secretariats with Security Liaison Officers of Bangkok, Thailand.
KUALA LUMPUR: The Vehicle Theft Reduction Council of Malaysia (VTREC) had a virtual Meeting and ‘Meet and Greet’ Session with Police Diraja Malaysia (PDRM) Security Liaison Officers (SLO), Embassy of Malaysia in Bangkok, Thailand on 27th January 2020 at 11.00 am (Malaysia time), organised by VTREC despite amid the COVID-19 pandemic which has caused disruption to physical meeting.
VTREC was presented at this event by the Co-ordinator herself, Puan Mas Tina Abdul Hamid together with Puan Afif Aliyana Abu Fitri and Encik Muhammad Alif Mohd Adnan, VTREC Executives. While SLO was presented by Tuan ACP Ahmad Taufik Haji Kutip, Tuan SUPT Khairul Nizam Yaacob and Tuan INSP. Suresh Kumar a/l Gopal.
While the virtual Meeting and ‘Meet and Greet’ Session provided the opportunity for VTREC to engage with the SLO, it allows VTREC to introduce its role in regard to reducing vehicle theft in Malaysia and for SLO to better understand VTREC’s aspiration and expectation whilst sharing its success stories. As part of ice-breaking session, since the SLO are newly appointed, Puan Mas Tina presented multiple sharing among others VTREC’s history, objectives, vehicle theft statistics, initiatives and locating and repatriation of Malaysia stolen vehicles recovered from other countries to Malaysia including from Thailand.

The event also allows exchange of information by the SLO on their roles in vehicles repatriation from Bangkok to Malaysia. Many pertinent issues ranging from current state of Malaysia stolen vehicles in Thailand, situation containment, friendly meeting with Royal Thai Police and challenges they are facing during the execution of the repatriation were also discussed.

At the end of the event, both Puan Mas Tina of VTREC and Tuan ACP Ahmad Taufik of SLO Bangkok, hoped to foster close co-operation, to continue the relation and friendship between the two entities. The meeting ended with a photo session.
